We parked for free in a very spacious car park and set off on our walk. We ended up doing 10.85 miles!
The area around Burghley House is absolutely stunning. Our walk took us past a large group of deer. The scenery - trees, plants, an old bridge and statuary was lovely to see. One of these days, H and I will visit the house and gardens and I'll update this review. - helen marsh Review added: 2018.07.28★ ★ ★ ★ ★Arrived at opening time 11am left at closing 5pm. So much to see The surprise garden was wonderful lots of amazing water features. The sculpture garden had so much easy to miss some, sculptures went from "what to wow" and lots in-between. As for the house if you like art over 400 on display plus huge ceiling and wall murals all of exquisite detail and quality. Magnificent wood carving all through. Garden cafe, ice cream shed and to finish off afternoon tea in the orangery.
